The three light sockets on Satos can be controlled symmetrically or individually. If necessary, each lamp channel can be adjusted individually for brightness, color temperature, LED light character, including green-magenta correction, and High-Speed Sync (HSS).
Advanced special functions such as Alternate, Delay and Sequence are freely adjustable on each lamp channel so you can create creative sequences of events with inimitable precision.

The large LCD screen with sharp contrast and multi-touch has a special protective glass. This is more resistant than conventional cover glass and is therefore extremely resistant to scratches, cracks and breakage. Satos is a robust tool for professional users.

Powering studio flashes with extremely high brightness can often be a problem - especially for photography both in the studio and on-location. Thanks to its unique "Power Slot concept", Satos offers unlimited power supply flexibility: the Satos 3200 has four and the Satos 1600 two slots for plug-in modules that can optionally be equipped with power supply units and batteries or a combination of both.

Broncolor slide-in batteries
The Broncolor slide-in battery has a much higher performance than a regular battery. Its industrial design is robust, and the technology used with high-current cells is extremely reliable. Satos continuously monitors the operating status and displays the current battery information menu. LEDs on the battery itself indicate charge status. A self-diagnostic function in each battery, together with integrated deep discharge protection, ensures that the battery will have a long life. Since the energy of the battery is below the threshold of 100 Wh, Satos can also be transported by air freight.

Slide-in power supply units
At least one power supply unit is required for mains operation. Two power supplies can be used with the Satos 3200. These speeds up the charging of the batteries and enables operation of the setting light directly from the mains. Thanks to the application-specific energy composition, Satos can be quickly and easily equipped optimally for all applications.

Advantages of batteries for mains operation
Even if mains power is available in the studio, it is always a clear advantage to equip the Satos with at least one battery cell. The plug-in battery compensates for fluctuations in networks that can be fragile, and with batteries the charging time is shortened flash to flash. Especially if the mains voltage is 100/110V, a battery as a buffer lead to significant improvements in the operating behavior of the generator. The battery keeps the energy ready to react quickly when the photo moment appears and acts as a booster for the charging time of the flash.

Satos - Speed and precision
With Satos, broncolor breaks new ground in the flash cut-off curve: broncolor's new and unique cut-off electronics transform the sub-optimal curve into a perfect rectangular shape – regardless of the selected burning time or intensity. The height (intensity) multiplied by the width (flash time) gives as surface the total amount of light delivered. Both parameters can be adjusted to achieve either the highest brightness or the longest burning time. Thanks to the rectangular flash curve, regardless of the set flash strength, the end of the burning time no longer shows any loss of power. Thus, the light intensity and color temperature remain constant at all times.

When speed is of the essence
In mode t 0.1 (opt), Sato optimizes brightness and flash duration across the entire control area to the best possible color temperature. If the intensity is increased - marked in the diagram as position t 0.1 (min) - it is possible to work with a significantly shorter flash pulse for the same amount of light and even fast-moving objects can be "frozen" and rendered without motion blur.

High Speed Sync (HSS)
HSS - shooting with the shortest shutter speeds on the camera side - requires long light pulses. To this end, Satos lowers the intensity, and, thanks to the rectangular cut-off curve, the light intensity remains constant throughout the duration of the flash. Consequently, uniform illumination over the entire sensor is guaranteed even with HSS.

Commercial photography
For decades, broncolor has been number one in commercial photography. Satos consolidates this position with its new features. Broncolor offers the widest range of light shapers and meets all the demands creative photographers place on their lighting equipment. Thanks to the possibility of both mains operation and battery operation, you can now shoot with your favorite tools anytime and anywhere, in the studio or on location. Sato's optimized cut-off technology gives even greater freedom to image creators' creativity. Absolute color consistency over the large brightness range of up to eleven f-stops and super-short flash times also enable unusual lighting scenarios and lighting.

Cultural heritage
Original rendering of objects requires a very high level of color control. Thus, Satos is the defining step in reproduction photography. To eliminate the need for retouching and image manipulation, the color temperature can be controlled individually for each lamp channel. Even the smallest color differences (e.g., due to deviations between different light formers) can be compensated thanks to this new technology. If an object is not to be exposed to intense flashlight, Satos also offers very precise continuous light with the Pulso L lamps. The calibrated LEDs allow the color temperature to be freely set over a wide range from 2800K to 6800K and the green/magenta balance can be corrected. A wide range of accessories such as UV additives or special light shapers complete the equipment, which is a requirement of many museums or institutes.

Charging time flash to flash
Satos produces energy for the next flash in an impressively short time, you are always ready for the important moment.
Unlike previous generations and other systems on the market, the charging time for Satos is independent of the mains voltage and burning time. The decisive factor is the selected power supply composition in the four or two plug-in slots as well as the intensity of the setting light.
It is important to note that batteries can supply more energy than other power sources for a short period of time, while DC can supply energy permanently. Therefore, Satos combines the best of both technologies and enables an adapted energy composition of power supplies and batteries. The batteries provide a short-term boost while charging the capacitors, while the power supply provides a steady supply of energy.
Each battery provides energy for about 120 flashes at 3200J or even 240 flashes at 1600J - this energy can be taken from the batteries very quickly. A plug-in power module gives Satos 3200J in about 8 seconds and with 1600J in about 4 seconds. This energy is charged back to the batteries.
As a rule of thumb, it can be established that a power supply unit can charge the batteries within one minute with as much energy as eight flashes of 3200J current require. Therefore, the use of a battery in parallel with the power supply unit is recommended even in studio operation.

Satos und Pulso L – Precision in the smallest detail
In addition to incredible technical performance and specifications, factors such as intuitive usability and modern design were essential during the development of Satos and Pulso L.
An example is the rotary control, the control wheel. Nothing was left to chance in the design of this slider. The chosen structure combines soft haptics with good grip - the result of tests with over 60 prototypes. Precise function is guaranteed even when wearing gloves.
A familiar scenario for anyone who works with high-profile models or in the event industry: There is only one chance for the perfect photo. For maximum reliability when triggering, Satos therefore has two photocells (on top of the display and on the side panel). Flash triggering via light pulse is thus ensured even when the flashes are placed in hidden places.

For each function in the sub-menu there is integrated context help, which simplifies settings of the device even for inexperienced users. Additional support is provided by the interactive knowledge platform at broncolor.swiss, which is constantly updated with the latest topics from the market.
